Johnnie Newman is a multi-platinum songwriter, having co-written songs for John Legend (“Pieces”), Foster the People (“Sit Next to Me”), Aly & AJ (“Personal Cathedrals,” “Hold Out”), Robin Schulz (“Higher Ground”), Galantis (“Hey Alligator”), and Bonnie McKee (“Wasted Youth”).

Foster the People’s “Sit Next to Me” has been certified 4x platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America while coming in at Number 2 on Billboard’s Alternative Song Year-End Charts. The song is also the recipient of a 2018 ASCAP Pop Award, which honors the most-performed pop songs of the year.

A song he co-wrote with Bonnie McKee — Cheryl’s “I Don’t Care” — debuted at Number 1 on the UK charts in 2014.
